December 5th, 2017 (Corona, CA.) – It’s official! When the Yamaha Time Trials Only starts to wind down, do not pack up! The Desert Drags Hosted by The Jump Champs will close down the day’s activities. We leaked out a little information back in December but are now ready to add this premiere event to The Jump Champs arsenal!
The Desert Drags will pair two vehicles together on an off-road drag course, feature a turn-a-bout at the far end, and then race back to the finish. This will be a FREE ENTRY event, just sign up quickly as we are limiting the Desert Drags to about 32 entries, 16 brackets, and 1 winner!
Not all off-road vehicles are created equal so we will have a preliminary session to determine brackets and competitive pairing. NO SAND BAGGING IS PERMITTED! This is a bragging rights battle and a spot to afford everyone a good time. Driving with your friends is always fun but The Desert Drags puts a new challenge to friendly competition! Face your rivals at the “Christmas Tree” Start Light and charge down The Desert Drags course!
DUE TO THE LIMITED FORMAT AND TIME CONSTRAINTS;
ALL ENTRIES ARE SUBJECT TO JUMP CHAMPS STAFF FINAL SELECTION.
Same as before – $10 to get in and free camping to all participants and their fans. Bring in your own food and drinks. Grand Stands are open for all. FREE MEDIA PASSES (Limited supply). Co-drivers allowed for a fee. Race Suit Rentals available. Thanks to our title sponsor, Yamaha will be hosting a demo day with the opportunity to test out their Yamaha YXZ 1000R out on the course. No fan or family member has to miss out on the action!
ABOUT THE JUMP CHAMPS
The Jump Champs main focus is gathering the fans, the enthusiasts, the recreational off road vehicle or UTV owners and giving them a place to show off their vehicles and driving ability. With featured events such as The Jump Champs, The Time Trials, and The Desert Drags are contest of skill which allows for the most participation with very affordable entry fees. This event has been long overdue and we are excited to team up with sponsors, big name racers and the iconic Glen Helen Raceway to bring this event to the masses. The goal is to bring the average spectator out to be part of the event, instead of sitting in the stands.
